Here at Budokai South we take our training very seriously and our Dojo differs greatly from your average neighborhood Karate School. Jujitsu and Aiki-Jujitsu are the oldest forms of Japanese Martial Arts used by the Samurai. Many of the Martial Arts practiced today come from Jujitsu and Aiki-jujitsu such as Karate, Judo, Aikido, and many forms of military and police combatives. We teach a strict Traditional Japanese curriculum in Aiki-Jujitsu, Jujitsu, and Judo.  The techniques that we teach include Chokes, Joint locks, Strikes, Throws, ground defenses and more. All of these techniques are arranged into a very comprehensive system with realistic self-defense being the goal of training. We also have a real lineage of instructors that is traced back many generations to the most highly regarded Martial Arts founders and practitioners who ever lived. Our goal is to have a core group of very serious Martial Artists who want to train and learn a legitimate, proven and complete system of self-defense. We teach adults only, we do not sell ranks, and we never use contracts. If all of this sounds different than what you have heard in the past from Martial Arts schools, you are correct! Our dojo is not a business! Teaching, learning, practicing, and respect is what this dojo is about, nothing else. Budokai South is a private dojo located on the Chief Instructor’s property. All potential new members must be approved by Barry Sensei and ranked members before being accepted to the Dojo.
